Aplailasain grew out of a very practical problem at home.
When our daughter Laila began her A-Levels, it quickly became clear how time-consuming and frustrating serious revision could be. Finding the right exam-board-specific questions, mark schemes, and guidance often meant searching across multiple sources, checking specifications, and trying to work out what was actually relevant. Like many students, she also tried using general AI tools, but getting dependable, board-aware study support from them was far from straightforward.
That experience led us to build something better.
By combining our backgrounds in education and AI development, we created Aplailasain to give students a clearer, more focused way to revise. The aim was never simply to add “AI” to study. It was to build a system that helps students work within the right syllabus, practise the right kinds of questions, receive useful feedback, and spend less time wrestling with generic tools that were not designed for real exam preparation.
We began with A-level support, but it soon became clear that the same approach could be just as valuable at GCSE, and in many cases even more so. Across both GCSEs and A-Levels, students need revision support that is easier to access, quicker to use, and more reliable in practice. Families supporting study at home, including home-educating families, often need structured guidance that helps students stay focused on the topics that matter most.
That is why Aplailasain now supports both GCSE and A-Level study.
Our platforms use modern AI models together with carefully designed prompts, supporting checks, and subject-focused structure to help students generate relevant practice, answer within the platform, and receive feedback, hints, and guidance in a way that is more aligned to serious study. The goal is to make revision more targeted, more manageable, and less stressful for students and families alike.
Aplailasain was built by people who understand both education and technology, and who wanted to create something genuinely useful: not a gimmick, not a generic chatbot, but practical revision support designed to help students prepare with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
